The Legal Records Division is responsible for legal documents which are filed as public record. Documents are maintained from 1800 (selected types) to present. Automated document indexes are available for Deeds and Mortgages back to January, 1986, along with other document types such as Liens, Fixture Filings and Wills. Plats are available back to 1912 and Marriage Licenses are available back to 1984. Document images are available online for all instrument filings from January, 2003 to current. Real estate records found in the database include: deeds, name changes, mechanics liens, mortgages, powers of attorney, wills, corporations, tax liens, military discharges, trademarks, charitable gaming registrations, assignments, releases, marriages, and delinquent property taxes. Security Agreement (uniform commercial code and title lien statements) and related document indexes are available online. Images for these documents are available from September, 2004 to current-->. Filing fees and document particulars for the most frequently filed documents are available online.

Access to eCCLIX record indexes and document images is available for viewing from this web site. An account and password must be assigned to you by the Madison County Clerk's office. Special software must be loaded to your computer system to enable viewing of document images. Access fees are charged for utilizing the data and images.
